you are kindly invited to participate in the WG III/3 "Feature Extraction and Grouping" of Commission III "Theory and Algorithms" of ISPRS. If you are interested please contact us, preferably via e-mail, and give us your name, address and e-mail. We would also like to know your fields of work and your activities/interests in feature extraction and grouping. If you have any comments or suggestions concerning the activities of the WG please let us know, they are very much appreciated.

If you know colleagues who might be interested in the WG III/3 and did not receive this circular letter, please invite them to reply as well.

For further information on the working group please note the attached terms of reference and our planned meetings.

Terms of Reference (approved by council of ISPRS):

Segmenting of images into meaningful features, such as points, edges, and regions
Investigating the impact of scale, geometric and radiometric image formation on image segmenting
Aggregating features by iterated grouping methods
Checking global consistency by optimization techniques
Investigating the potential of performing grouping processes in 3D under special consideration of object space constraints, precision and reliability
Evaluating the performance of feature extraction and grouping algorithms in cooperation with similar efforts in computer vision
