PRRS 2018 - Pattern Recognition in Remote Sensing

10th IAPR Workshop on Pattern Recognition in Remote Sensing (PRRS 2018)

August 19-20, 2018, Beijing, China

The 10th International Workshop on Pattern Recognition in Remote Sensing (PRRS 2018) is organized by the Technical Committee 7 (TC-7 Remote Sensing and Mapping) of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) and the Inter Commission Working Group II/III (ICWG II/III Pattern Analysis in Remote Sensing) of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

This time the workshop will not be a part-event within the International Conference on Pattern Recognition ICPR 2018 program. Instead the workshop will be organized in close temporal and spatial neighborhood of the ICPR in Beijing. It will be hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Resources and Environmental Information Systems. In the past decades the PRRS workshop has established itself as an important event for scientists involved in the combined fields of pattern recognition and remote sensing. Therefore it has always been organized together with the ICPR conferences. Pattern recognition and remote sensing have always overlapped, but the large volumes of remote sensing data now coming from last generation sensors require new advanced algorithms and techniques for automatic analysis. This two-day workshop will be the ideal means to spread and exchange experiences by international researchers.

Abstract submission and Conference Registration

You are invited to submit extended abstracts (1,000-1,200 words) or full papers for the workshop. Please format your paper as the provided template, and then submit it by e-mail to prrs2018@lreis.ac.cn with subject "PRRS2018 paper submission + your paper ID". Reviewing will be single-blind. In submitting a paper the authors acknowledge that no paper substantially similar in content has been or will be submitted elsewhere during the PRRS review period. Accepted papers that are presented at the workshop will be published via IEEE Xplore. A special issue associated to this workshop is planned with IEEEJSTARS (IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing) later on.

Papers for the PRRS2018 might be related to a large range of topics, including, but not limited to the following list:

  • Feature extraction
  • Feature selection and reduction
  • Supervised and semi-supervised classification
  • Clustering
  • Active and transfer learning
  • Deep learning
  • Target and anomaly detection
  • Data fusion
  • Nonlinear methods for pattern recognition
  • Novel pattern recognition tasks in remote sensing applications
  • Technical reviews on related topics
